No matter whether one is going snorkeling for the very first time, or is on their twentieth trip, there are a number of amazing destinations to choose from at the Cayman Islands. Here are a few of the best places to snorkel at the Grand Cayman, Little Cayman, and Cayman Brac:

Wreck of the Cali, Grand Cayman: This wreck is located around 40 yards offshore in the George Town harbor, right beside the cruise port. As the wreck is only 15-20 feet deep, it is pretty easily accessible for snorkelers. Wreck of the Cali has become an artificial reef that provides a habitat for tarpons, sponges, corals and other sea creatures. The water at this site is typically calm, but one might want to watch out for boat traffic. Tourists should consider bringing a swim buoy or brightly-colored snorkel vest to improve their visibility in the water.

Bloody Bay Marine Park, Little Cayman:  Even though it is widely popular for being a world-class dive site, Bloody Bay Marine Park located off the coast of Little Cayman Island, also has a lot to offer to the snorkelers. This protected marine park houses abundant sea life and healthy coral reefs. This area is quite renowned for its awe-inspiring drop-off that is known as the Bloody Bay Wall. At this drop-off, the seafloor plummets from around 20 feet to over 1,000 feet deep. Bloody Bay also has spectacular coral reefs and high underwater visibility. There are about six designated sites for snorkelers here, Nancy’s Cup of Tea and the Jackson Point being some of the best ones. Little Cayman is around 80 miles from Grand Cayman. Majority of the tourists tend to fly to the island from Grand Cayman or take a boat from Cayman Brac.

Cayman Brac: This quaint little island is most popular for its scuba diving. However, there are a number of interesting sites available for snorkelers to explore here. Some of the best snorkeling opportunities on the island lay along the north shore. The thriving Buccaneer Reef can be accessed from the Buccaneer’s Beach which is located to the north of the airport in West End. This reef features a variety of marine life, including reef sharks, reef fish, stingrays, eagle rays, and sea turtles. The 330-foot Wreck of Captain Keith Tibbetts is also a great snorkeling spot due to its impressive underwater visibility. While it is possible to reach this wreckage from the shore, the majority of the snorkelers opt to take a short boat ride to access the shipwreck.

People can easily plan a trip Cayman Islands with Capital Vacations Myrtle Beach, and go snorkeling at any of the three spots underlined above. Each of them can provide quite an amazing experience.
